most people need drawers to put names on styles, to define music to a short range of elements. those will have a hard time describing this new masterpiece by uk based dino lenny & simon duffy. combining units of minimal, techno, noise structures and a certain rave attitude at the peaktimes they really make ya feel lost in a positive way. who cares about styles when the result is working, and this combination sure does wether youre at a club or even looking for the perfect track to rock the open air season this year. yellow tail scores big time again with this underground peaktime burner! andrea doria twists the original into a more >electroish< direction. distorted leadsynths with strong mellos leave no choice but to raise the hands and celebrate electronic music the way it should be done, wild, obsessive and free from the daily worries. this is huge

americhords 2004 enter ep get a double reworking by two of our favourite producers: dan curtin and mark broom. ohios dan curtin metamorphic records delivers two diverse interpretations of >tighter my grip<. his first >track mix< is more in keeping with his recent stripped down productions on tuning spork, with a sharply produced linear reworking which focuses in on the original tracks vocals and shimmering synth riff. his second >string< mix sees him turn in another of his signature techno-funk classics, as only dan curtin knows how. long standing d1 collaborator mark broom, effortless as always, rearranges >phoenix< into two pulsating 4/4 grooves, with the originals haunting string line riding on top throughout both. again, as with recent d1 releases, this is strictly limited vinyl run of 300 copies

"access denied" is a surging, swinging, darkside monster thats relentlessly tricky and funky. the detroit pads are seriously tripped out and swamped in glitchy beats and stepping hi-hats, and theres some serious low end; its a hell of a track. regis and female are responsible for some of the best uk techno ever made. here they contribute c/chaos; performed live at the orbit in leeds, its simply massive, propelled by downward twisting strings and utterly slamming, intoxicating electronic rhythms. techno luminaries the 65d mavericks are renowned for their driving but innovative techno.
